We all know how the saying goes: Don’t judge a book by its cover. Call me shallow,… all you want but I love me a pretty book cover. It’s the first thing that grabs my attention! The second thing is the synopsis. If these two things look and sound great, than I’m probably picking it up or putting the book on my TBR pile!

The first book I’m going to mention is one of my all time favourite covers and it’s the Dutch version of Pachinko by Min Jin Lee. It’s really high on my list to finish this book. I really liked the first part of the book but for some reason my brain stopped me from reading, yeah I really don’t like it when my mind acts up, anyways… I especially love the cranes on the cover!

The second book I bought based on the cover is Wild Beauty by Anna Marie-McLemore. I adore flowers! And this book attracted my attention a couple of years ago, I hope to read it soon!

Another element that grabs my attention and is also the reason why the next book is on this list of favourite book covers, is if there’s a graphic of the main character on the cover. With The Fire on High by Elizabeth Acevedo, a book I read last year and really liked! I highly recommend reading one of Acevedo’s books! (A personal favourite is The Poet X, it’s the reason why I started this book blog !)

The fourth book I bought based on the cover combines two of my favourite elements and is called All Boys Aren’t Blue by George M. Johnson: Graphic and flowers!!

And last but not least, an older favourite of mine: The Wrath and The Dawn by Renée Ahdieh, I don’t have an exact reason why I love it, but I saw the book and I JUST KNEW this was going to be a favourite. I think it might have been the red colour that attracted me.
