BOOKS ARE MAGIC IN NEW YORK

My second time visiting New York was last year in July and I wish I could’ve spend all my time just strolling around and visiting all the bookshops of New York but sadly, this wasn’t possible. However, there was one bookshop I just really adored…

BOOKS ARE MAGIC

Books Are Magic started in May of 2017, and quickly made its magic work and reached me all the way to Belgium. Before coming to New York, this was the bookshop I definitely wanted to visit. I saw it on Bookstagram accounts and in Booktube videos so I did NOT want to miss this.

It’s a small bookshop in Brooklyn, New York that took my breath away. Literally, because we already walked very long that day. And if that wasn’t enough, I had read the map wrong so we walked longer than we should’ve. (Oops. Don’t let me read maps. I’m awful with them. Ask my sister, she knows all about it.)

After the long walk and the searching, we stumbled upon the big sign which you can see on the photo at the bottom of this blogpost! A perfect place to take a picture. After that, and a slightly, awkward greeting with another book lover, we went inside and let ourselves get lost between the shelves.

*A little note for the staff member who worked there, you really made my day with your enthusiastic rambling about working in the bookshop.

LIST OF BOOKS I BOUGHT

  • Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
  • On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Vuong
  • With The Fire On High by Elizabeth Acevedo

Since buying those books last year, I’ve read two of them: Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston and With The Fire On High by Elizabeth Acevedo and both rated them 4/5 stars.

Have you visited this bookshop? What was your experience there? Let me know in the comments or head over to my Instagram where we can talk more about books or other things!

**DISCLAIMER: I wrote this before the Corona outbreak in the USA so please stay safe!!

I love going to bookshops wherever I travel. This one looks so cute! My favorites are usually the locally owned ones in little towns that I stop by at during road trips. Looking forward for the end of this pandemic so I can finally go into a bookstore again!

    1. Yess I completely agree!! One of my all time favourites is one close to my home, with a broad range of books and a little cafe where you can drink some coffee or tea, I’ll definitely write about that one too! Yes me too! 💖
